They way of the dinosaur

Listening to the radio this morning, they were talking about unionization. Union leaders were lamenting the reduction in membership and discussing ways to increase it (ie Get Into WalMart). Why are they sad that unions aren't as necessary as they once were? Unions were a stop-gap measure designed to protect workers that couldn't protect themselves. Current unions are a joke that do more harm than good. I think the leaders are sad because they're becoming obsolete...

Exactly. Unions serve a very important purpose at times, but their goal should be eliminating a need for themselves.

Yes. Wouldn't it be nice if all work was like that? Do it, make it work, move on to the next project. I love that dream.
