(no subject)

I currently have a cat in my lap. This cat just decided that 3 seconds between pets was too long and headbutted me repeatedly until he repositioned himself into a permanent snuggle. I hope that he's done with this phase by the time I have to get on my next conference call.

Mostly working

Had a second week of really good physical therapy last night. The curve in my spine seems to be letting go a little. Today I feel taller and more centered. It's almost as though my back and shoulders are starting to be aligned properly. It's the strangest feeling, and yet a huge relief.

Of course, this progress comes with a price. I've been going to PT for 2 hours, once a week, since I started back up in earnest in April of last year. And the last 2 really good sessions have been accompanied by so much effort that I felt like I would be physically sick while working. I don't think I've ever done anything this challenging in my life.

So today I'm feeling good, if a little slow. We're trying to change the habits my muscles have, so they're rebelling a bit and letting me know that they'd prefer to not change thank-you-very-much. But next week I'll go back and they'll have to change a little more. Slow and steady, right?
