Woke up this morning and got ready for work at the usual obscene hour of 3:30 AM. As I was getting ready to leave at all of 4:30, the power went out. I was able to call it in quickly and share the wonders of the sounds of trees breaking off due to the amount of ice in their branches. As a result, and sending my husband out to test the ground, I stayed home. Too much ice for safe driving up and down hills.

The power finally came back on about 1:30 or so. The heat's working, and I've taken about a dozen pictures of the ice glazing all the plants. However, I'm still frozen to the core. And we need to test the fireplace for functionality and smoke production. But not right now. Maybe after I've cooked myself under the blankets for a while.
