Mega-update

I was busy all weekend and cranky this week, so there are a lot of things that got missed. I guess now is as good a time as any to record them.

Friday night I went out with pygma_lion. It was sort of a birthday celebration but not exactly. The best kind, if you ask me. I don't really like making a big deal out of my birthday. So wen went to the Crab Pot and smashed shells at one another. I finally finished up my liter of beer and we headed out for destinations unknown. Well, really it was off to play miniature golf. It was dark and cold, but we opened up the sunroof and screeched anyway. The mini golf was really pathetic, so we ended up at a pool hall near my house that's a "family" place. It was dry, which was sad, but we played several games of pool for about 2 hours and teenage boys tried to pick us up. It was hilarious. We were way more interesting than anyone else. But we got tired of that and headed out to another bar. It was miraculously smoke-free. We were even left alone longe enough to play a game of made-up-words Scrabble. Definitions of the words are of course required and must make sense for the word to stand. It kicked serious butt.

Saturday was sleeping in and lazing around, followed by a ride on the motorcycles. It was great! We went into traffic because my husbands bike was completely out of gas. It was scary and I nearly dumped the bike when I tried to turn a corner too sharply. But I didn't go down and didn't pull too many muscles saving myself. I love my tiny bike! Then we were off to Ariadne auf Naxos. It was fantastic. I really need to get a video of the performance. The comedic tribute to Titanic was classic. I don't think I've been to an opera where the audience laughed out loud like that before.

Sunday was my "party." We didn't get to work on the workbench or go for a ride or anything! Instead, we went to Costco where I got a zillion glads, daylilies and 7 roses. They're all going in the yard. Soon. My brother and his wife showed up and we had good conversation and great barbeque for dinner. I love barbequed ribs. There's just nothing like it.
