I've wished that spammers would die, but I never meant it literally.
Vardan Kushnir, notorious for sending spam to each and every citizen of Russia who appeared to have an e-mail, was found dead in his Moscow apartment on Sunday, Interfax reported Monday. He died after suffering repeated blows to the head.

The implication is that he was murdered for spamming, since he'd received death threats for spamming previously. Crazy, crazy people.

A dude named Bell wrote some article along those lines a while back. Basic premise was "anonymous e-cash means that if a lot of people hate you they will take up a collection and have you rubbed out." I think the underlying theory was that if a million people donated a buck to the "die you damn spammer" fund that the Mafiya would have him sleeping with the fishes in no time.
