Sore. And tired.

Yesterday was beautiful - the sun was out, the birds were singing and it wasn't too hot. Just the right temperature for hiking. So my husband and I ventured out on our connector trail to join the main trail up the mountain. Unfortunately we started about noon (after no breakfast and I'd already run my 2 miles of the day).

The walk was beautiful. We made it an hour out through the woods and partway up the hil. At the one hour point, we turned back as we'd agreed when we set out. Neither of us are in great shape and we live close enough that hitting the summit isn't really the goal. We were just out for a walk in the sun and to assess the damage done to our connector trail.

It was a good thing we turned back when we did, as by the time we got home my feet were tired and I was starting to get blisters on my achilles tendons from the boots. But it was a great hike and the trail was wonderful. I'm looking forward to doing it again. And next time, I'll be taking my camera to get pictures of all the different kinds of moss we see.
