Nature will eat your cats

Ever since the neighbors fenced in their dogs, we've had much more coyote activity. Yesterday while pulling into the driveway, we saw two of them, sitting in the yard. They took off before I was able to grab pictures, but this morning one came back to nap. I managed to get a few before he woke up. You'll have to click through to the larger versions to be able to see him well.

All this after we were graced with the newborn elk over the weekend. She turned perfectly so I could get her spots. Sometimes I just have to count my blessings.

When we lived on the outskirts of Albq., NM it was also very wild-kingdom. Coyotes would howl at night from different places around our house. New houses would be built and you'd see a poster up about a week after the new people moved in. "Missing: outdoor cat. answers to 'fluffy'. Sparkly pink collar." I wouldn't have had the heart to tell them where the collar was going to turn up.

My parents neighborhood is the same way; cats disappeared all the time. People are silly sometimes.
