Side effects

There have been some very interesting things to come out of this last couple of weeks with no furnace. Things I never would have expected in a million years.
  1. I'm getting used to the cold. That's not to say that I like it, just that it's not as big of a problem as I thought it would be. Except for the showering. That's still unpleasant.
  2. I'm sleeping better. Like a rock, in fact. I'm going to have to remember this and adjust our thermostat accordingly, when we get heat back.
  3. The window shades are open more. We originally got them to keep the heat in during the winter, and block some of the blazing sun in the summer. But now I'm opening them up to catch what little sun there is and try to heat the house up.

That's not to say that it's all sunshine and light, but really it's been far less unpleasant than I thought it would be. In fact, I'm really liking the sleeping things, so the fact that we have at least 3 more weeks this way isn't making me too upset.
