High tide

We’ve had rain (snow last night) for the last several days, so this morning on the way out to run errands I stopped to get some comparison pictures. The last set of freezing weather showed the river at one of its lows, this morning didn’t disappoint with it being high. It’s pretty brown with rain and runoff, and more swift than I’d care to test my toes in. I couldn’t get as close for pictures either but ended up getting close enough to startle off a pair of what looked to be red headed grebes of some sort. The reflexes this morning were way too slow to get a good picture, but I’ll be looking them up in the bird book later.
