This feels cliche, but today I'm thankful for all the veterans. Many of my family members have served at one time or another, and I'm proud that they've done so. I don't always agree with the choices this country makes, but the commitment to being ruled by the people (in all their flaws and changing opinions) at least acknowledges our fallibility. The possibility of revisiting a poor choice and fixing it is hug, at both a personal and larger level. And those who have sacrificed for our ability to be a part of this flawed, but striving, machine have my utmost respect.
