Of Earthquakes and Such

Today there was an earthquake. Yesterday
I went skiing. I only fell once (not bad for the 1st time in 10 years). But the way I fell meant that now I have a bruise in the muscle of my, well, for lack of a better word, butt. And so far, it's been pretty painful.

An excerpt from an email explaining my day:

I'm still at home. I wasn't able to stand long enough this morning to take a shower, and by the time I'd eaten and the pain pills kicked in, the house was shaking like it was a rollercoaster. the only casualty was a glass on the stove that was hit by the coke bottle from Germany falling on it. Everything else looks fine. No new cracks or anything.

Aren't cats supposed to sense earthquakes ahead of time? Guinness sat on the floor looking at me like, "What's going on here?" I had to pick her up and take her away from the huge sliding glass door. We sat under a doorway and watched the stuff fall off the T.V. and not break.

That's what I thought too. After a bit of shaking, Phil took off to hide under the bed. By that time, I'd already figured out what was going on. Pretty disappointing.
